ABOUT

Hello, I'm Carol. I was born and raised on the North East Coast of Scotland. Since I was a child I have loved art and creative pursuits. I have worked in a few different fields in life including the legal world and health and social care, but art has always been my passion, my happy place.
Over the years, my creative journey has evolved from a deep focus on portraiture to a return to and renewed passion for abstract art. Each piece I create is a reflection of human emotions, capturing stories and experiences that resonate with me. As I embraced my own healing journey from cPTSD, I found inspiration in nature and the more rugged environments that surrounded me, allowing those elements to influence my abstract creations. I rely strongly on my intuition when painting and the process for me is quite meditative. This transition back to abstract art has been a transformative experience, merging the intimate connections of the past with the boundless possibilities of the future.
I'm largely self taught but have studied under renowned abstract artists whose wisdom and insight has helped me hone my own process. You will usually find me in my home studio, wearing my favourite 25 year old dungarees, listening to my favourite playlist and transferring my feelings and emotions onto canvas.

CAROL'S ARTISTIC JOURNEY
Based in the wild, windswept beauty of North East Scotland, Carol is an abstract artist whose work is both a sanctuary and a form of healing. Emerging from the shadows of complex PTSD and living with Fibromyalgia, her art is a soul-deep expression of grief, pain, resilience, transformation, and quiet strength.
Drawing inspiration from raw emotion, the rhythms of nature, and the unseen energies that connect us all, her canvases are meditations in colour, texture, and movement. Whether shaped by the hush of an ancient forest or the restless song of the sea, her creations are deeply spiritual reflections of her inner journey. Guided by love and a steadfast belief in kindness, she paints not just to be seen, but to be felt.
Her studio, nestled near the flowing water of the River Dee, is her sacred space — a place where trauma alchemizes into beauty, and silence speaks louder than words. Each piece she creates is an invitation: to feel more deeply, to heal more gently, and to remember that art, like nature, holds the power to restore.
